FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol and it is the main way for webmasters to upload files to the servers. In order to use FTP,
you must install an FTP client and enter your server\\\'s FTP login information.
Once this is provided, you can attempt to connect to your FTP server. If this is successful, you will see the home directory of
your website, and from there, you can browse your site's content and upload/download/delete files and folders.
Step 1: Download an FTP Client
Verelink recommends Filezilla for all webmasters, though there are several other good commercial alternatives such as CuteFTP and SmartFTP. Filezilla is free and open source, meaning that it has all if not more features than its commercial
siblings at zero cost to the user (save for donations you would like to give).
You can see the download page for Filezilla here:
http://filezilla-project.org/download.php
You will want to click on the link that has the .exe file for the most recent version of Filezilla. As of the publishing of this tutorial, the most recent Filezilla download for Windows users is "FileZilla_3.0.10_win32-setup.exe" Download and install this program.

Step 2: Enter account information
After you install the software, you will need to give your account information to the FTP client.
This process varies with each client, but we will show you the way to do it in Filezilla. After opening Filezilla,
go to File>Site Manager. Here, you can click on the "New Site" button to input your account information.
Name your FTP connection whatever you would like, such as "My Home Site." Afterwards, you will need to input the host,
user and password into the fields to the right. All of this information is provided in the email sent to your account upon your activation. After you do this, just click "connect" and it will attempt to connect to your server.

Step 3: Upload files as necessary
There are two windows visible after you connect to the server. On the left is the document window, where you can browse your computer's contents. On the right is the information on your server. You need to find the file you want to upload in the document window and drag it to the right server window. Make sure the folder you want to upload the file to is open in the server window.
You can also drag files directly from your desktop to the server window.
